Veg Chowmein

A very easy to make and very popular indo-Chinese recipe made up of veggies and noodles, cooked with various spices and Chinese sauces. veg chowmein is a very popular street food also.

ingredients for veg chowmein:

  • noodles: 500 gram
  • carrots: 200 gram long chopped
  • cabbage: 250 gram chopped
  • onion: 1 medium size long chopped
  • capsicum: 1 medium size long chopped
  • ginger-garlic paste: 2 tablespoon
  • tomato catch up: 2 tablespoon
  • chili sauce: 1tablespoon
  • soy sauce: 1 tablespoon
  • vinegar: 1/2 tablespoon
  • red chili powder: 1 tablespoon
  • salt to taste
  • oil: 3tablespoon
  • turmeric powder: 1/2 tablespoon

how to prepare veg chowmein:

  1. Heat the water in a deep pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil and a pinch of salt in it and then add noodles and boil them for 10 minutes until noodles properly cook,
  2. drain the boiled noodles and rains with the cold water so that the noodles are being non-sticky,
  3. keep this non-sticky noodles aside,
  4. heat the pan and add 2 tablespoons of oil, ginger garlic paste, and long chopped onion, saute for a while,
  5. add all the chopped capsicum, carrots and cabbage, mix all this well,
  6. cook for 2 minutes till they have become little soft on high flame,
  7. then add salt to taste, red chili powder, and turmeric powder and mix gently, cook for a minute,
  8. now add noodles and add chili sauce, vinegar, tomato catch up and soy sauce, toss them gently and mix all together nicely, everything is done it on  high flame,
  9. turn off the flame and take out the veg chowmein in the serving plate, garnish with fresh coriander leaves,
  10. Here Veg chowmein is ready to serve. Serve it with tomato catch up.
